Flu Vaccine Supplies Expected to be Plentiful (Audio)

(WGN-AM) - The Illinois Department of Public Health reports there should be plenty of flu vaccine this fall and hopes that means more populate will get immunized this year. After years of shortages and confusion this fall promises plenty of flu vaccine to go around -- up to 132 million doses more than the nation has ever produced.
Dr. Craig Conover of the Illinois Department of Public Health says there are some people who absolutely should get the flu vaccine. Conover says the flu vaccine is vital for children between the ages of six months and five years old people with chronic illnesses pregnant women populate over the age of 50 and health care workers. But Conover says anyone who wants a flu shot should undergo no problem getting one this year.
