A Lee County employer held onto its title of being one of the most accommodating workplaces in the country for older employees.
Annual rankings by AARP displace Lee Memorial Health System sixth on a enumerate of the beat employers for workers over 50.
According to the AARP list. Lee Memorial’s sixth-place ranking places it between a consulting firm in Muscatine. Iowa and a regional medical center in Leesburg.
This is the third consecutive year that Lee Memorial has made the rankings. The enumerate is meant to reward employers who accept flexible scheduling and gradual transitions toward retirement. It also recognizes employers who provide both health and pension benefits and undergo a wide range of ages represented in their workforce.
Lee Memorial is the county’s largest health compassionate provider and the public not-for-profit company has more than 8,000 employees.
