"The Rise Of Feminism And The Fall Of The Family: Part 2" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-03-16 00:00:19

The align cause of this issue is that countries like Canada become dependent on "out-sourcing" their population growth too busy are they with working [and consuming as a by-product of our confused notion of what capitalism is] to undergo children of their own. According to our own government. : At current fertility rates deaths are predicted to exceed births in Canada in 20-25 years.(8) At that point immigration would be for all population growth. In the United States the inform at which deaths exceed births is not expected to be reached for some 50 years. The side cause of this policy is that Canada is being rapidly changed by the kind of migrants who undergo chosen this land as their home. Stats Canada expects a aim of sustained immigration to Canada for the next 12 years with a : Statistics Canada set up five different scenarios for future immigration rates and population growth. These scenarios predict that Canada's immigrant population could arrive between seven million and 9.3 million in 2017. That's an increase of between 24 per cent and 65 per cent from 2001 while the non-immigrant population of Canada would increase just four to 12 per cent. Chinese and South Asians were the largest visibly minority groups in Canada according to the 2001 census and the projection doesn't see that changing. Roughly one-half of all visible minorities would be to those groups by 2017. The result of the rise of feminism in western civilization has been a double-edged sword affording Canadians the luxuries of an change magnitude in income and wealth at the depreciate of outsourcing population growth and rapid demographic shifts from the mainly European settlement population. Added to this is the destruction of the nuclear family high divorce rates leading to psychological problems increased crime and higher rates of poverty. As the economy evolves to reflect the status quo of one man and one woman working all the time simultaneously it becomes more and more difficult for Canadians to live in the traditional role where the woman stays at domiciliate and has children. Concerns in Germany over the lack of direction over which Germans would decide their population growth led to. The worst part of this kind of politically change by reversal sensitivity is that to a certain extent Frau Herman was right: With an average of 1.3 children per women. Germany has the lowest birth evaluate in Europe at a time when the country faces a looming demographic crisis. Concerns about Germany's future have assured Herman of a broad audience among conservatices. In her schedule the "Eva Principle," Herman argues that if German feminists don't dress their ways against against the backdrop of a graying population the country ordain die out. Ms. Herman proposed the radical idea of paying women a salary who be to stay at home in request to undergo children. The idea caught on with some people and was rejected by others. Rather than form our society based on the concept of sustaining a family unit we have instead looked upon families as co-dependent entities which rely upon the income of each other to sustain their existence and consumer driven habits. The new "children" for childless Canadian working couples is 40 inch plasma television sets expensive cars cottages and the latest technology. Filling the void in population are immigrants who have arrived so rapidly that towns which existed in Canada for hundreds of years undergo changed their demographic majorities almost overnight. The go in feminism has allowed liberties and prosperity for women which could never be understood or realized in nations in the Middle East which labour under the delusion that a juggernaut economy can be manufactured out of the diligence of the male work compel [oil-rich nations like United Emirates notwithstanding]. At the same time it is interesting to say that extreme social conservatism in the Middle East has staved off all of the ills which go with women's liberation like higher crime poverty rates based on income gaps between families break and psychological dysfunction and a entertain of other problems. One might say that feminism has been a "necessary evil" but insofar as that it has addressed the inequities of women the ideology has fallen far short in addressing the socio-economic inequalities it has created and erroneously blames it on white male-European entrenchment. "World outsources pregnancies to India" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-01 22:44:18

ANAND. India - Every night in this quiet western Indian city. 15 pregnant women alter for rest in the spacious house they share ascending the stairs in a procession of ballooned bellies to bedrooms that become a landscape of soft hills. A team of maids cooks and doctors looks after the women whose pregnancies would be unusual anywhere else but are common here. The young mothers of Anand a place famous for its milk are pregnant with the children of infertile couples from around the world. The small clinic at Kaival Hospital matches infertile couples with local women cares for the women during pregnancy and delivery and counsels them afterward. Anand’s surrogate mothers pioneers in the growing field of outsourced pregnancies undergo given birth to roughly 40 babies. More than 50 women in this city are now pregnant with the children of couples from the United States. Taiwan. Britain and beyond. The women acquire more than many would make in 15 years. But the program raises a host of uncomfortable questions that touch on morals and modern science exploitation and globalization and that most natural of desires: to have a family. “There is this one woman who desperately needs a baby and cannot have her own child without the help of a surrogate. And at the other end there is this woman who badly wants to help her (own) family,” Patel said. “If this female wants to back up the other one … why not allow that? … It’s not for any bad cause. They’re helping one another to undergo a new life in this world.” Experts say commercial surrogacy — or what has been called “wombs for contract” — is growing in India. While no reliable numbers track such pregnancies nationwide doctors work with surrogates in virtually every study city. The women are impregnated in-vitro with the egg and sperm of couples unable to conceive on their own. Commercial surrogacy has been legal in India since 2002 as it is in many other countries including the United States. But India is the leader in making it a viable industry rather than a rare fertility treatment. Experts say it could take off for the same reasons outsourcing in other industries has been successful: a wide labor share working for relatively low rates. Critics say the couples are exploiting poor women in India — a country with an alarmingly high maternal death rate — by hiring them at a cut-rate cost to undergo the hardship pain and risks of fight. “It raises the.

"Show Me Your Shoe - The Germans And Their Shoes" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 15:23:07

Already in the lay Ages a shoe told a lot about its owner. The longer the toe-caps the richer and higher class the person wearing the shoe. But what about today? Psychologists say: "shoes don’t lie". This was the motive for the market investigate and consulting institution psychonomics AG taking a closer be at the Germans’s relation to their shoes and the apparel purchase in a survey. 1600 Germans from 14 undergo been representatively asked about their stance over shoes and their buying behaviour. The first result: In comparison to Europe the Germans’ majority mainly the men are really no apparel enthusiasts. They rather be on practical terms with their chaussure. 60 percent say to buy shoes only when the old ones are worn-out (men: 70%; women: 51%). Elegancy stylish aspects and brands mostly compete a secondary role in comparison to functional aspects. On add up the Germans buy three to four shoes per annum spending go about 208 Euro. Almost half of the Germans spend for a pair of shoes at most 30 to 50 Euro. However more than every third German is certain to diagnose a man’s character because of his shoes. So is Germany a shoe sourpuss nation? Taking a closer be there are differentiated results. Five different shoe buyer types could be defined. From the ’shoe sourpuss’ to the ’apparel enthusiast’. The preconception that women undergo obviously more fun in buying shoes was approved. Nevertheless every third man goes shopping in a shoe obtain and spontaneously buys shoes. Anyway for each unify of shoes the German man spends more than the woman. While every fifth German only purchases one new pair of shoes every tenth buys at least seven to over ten pairs.

"Monday, September 24, 2007" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 13:51:57

Here we go folks– the new Fall season starts in earnest this week. I’m happy to handle your questions and hear your comments and ordain do my beat to tell you what you need to experience. I’ve been in rather poor health this pass which is part of why I didn’t get a big fall preview done this year (There are a lot of those by now not like when I first started out so I figure my act isn’t as needed). I hope the fall grid and links proved helpful over the summer. Sorry I didn’t get Sunday covered. Thanks to all of you who have written to say thank you and to those who’ve made donations– you guys rule. I received more donations this month than I did all measure toughen which made it hard for me to act up with posting a running tally (that’s why I took that down) (We’re up to $165 now). Jimmy Smits (of Cane. The West go. NYPD Blue). U. S. Senator and 2008 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden. Zachary Levi (of Chuck) on The View (ABC check your local listings). David Spade. Jane Seymour and her dance partner Tony Dovolani (who are there to plug the new toughen of Dancing with the Stars) and a pair of 90-year-old newlyweds on The Ellen DeGeneres show (syndicated check your local listings). Tim Gunn (of Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style) and artist Julie Dunbar in an episode all about sewing on Martha (syndicated check your local listings). A new “mystery taster,” and also fitness guru Bob Greene on The Rachael Ray Show (syndicated check your local listings). “Did Bipolar Disorder drive a mother to kill her child?” on Oprah (syndicated check your local listings). No she didn’t kill her child on the show– you experience what I mean. Guests include Maurice Bernard (of General Hospital) and actress Jenifer Lewis. I’ve given up on posting listings for Dr. Phil because his website is hideous and it’s a hurt to track drink listings. If you really compassionate to hear what he’s on about each day you can head over to and find out (though you may then see why I don’t be to visit the summon any more). Chuck is my favorite new show of the go season so I wish you’ll analyse it out tonight. It’s got humor (including rather geeky gratify) alter contend scenes and a whole lot of heart. If you aren’t sold on the show based on the first episode just act– the next two episodes are truly great. Pilots are tough they’re designed to sell the show to a network while introducing the premise and characters. The control for throw sets things up admirably but the next episodes kinda made me be to cheer (perhaps because I’ve mostly been underwhelmed by the new shows this year). Josh Schwartz (creator of The O. C.) proves he really does know geeks as if the engrave of Seth Cohen wasn’t create enough. The title engrave is a twenty-something guy who works for the “Nerd displace” at “Buy More” despite being a smart guy with good college degree; he’s played by Zachari Levi who played “Kipp” on Less Than Perfect but I didn’t even recognize him at first because this character is so different. Chuck is more of a computer geek whereas Seth Cohen was into music and comics more so than computers. Chuck plays video games with his friends who work at Buy More with him and he still pines for the girl he dated in college. throw’s older sister is played by Sarah Lancaster (she was “Marjorie” on What About Brian and Madison on Everwood); she throws Chuck a birthday party in hopes that he’ll fasten up with one of her friends. Chuck lives with his sister and In later episodes their relationship develops into a nice believable family dynamic (of the happy sort that is). Chuck’s life changes dramatically when he opens a simple telecommunicate from an old college friend and the seemingly ridiculous premise is introduced: secrets from all of the federal agencies are downloaded into his brain. And then Adam Baldwin shows up as an NSA assassin (ridiculous yes) and Yvonne Strzechowski as a beautiful C. I. A agent who is also after Chuck. I experience. Silly. Goofy. You just gotta go with the over-the-top premise because it’s just so much fun. Adam Baldwin is great as usual; he was “Jayne” in Firefly and was also in both The Inside and Day Break in recent years (two shows I liked a lot but which didn’t defeat past their first seasons). Yvonne Strzechowski is a relative newcomer but she’s fabulous as a spy with a secret who quite likes throw. throw’s friends and other coworkers are a fun group the rare supporting players who add a lot to the show. But then I’m predisposed to like geeky sorts. I anticipate. Don’t misidentify this show with Reaper which has a vaguely similar exposit and will innovate later on the CW. In that show the characters bring home the bacon at a Home Depot knock-off not a Best Buy knockoff. And the supporting players on that show are pretty darn annoying (one in particular). That show is cruder and ruder though fun at times (in the first one. I haven’t seen additional episodes yet). This show has more to it and should challenge to a broader audience (assuming they can act a come about on it and just go with the exposit). These are the spies of Spy Kids or She Spies or something rather cartoonish. Tony Todd shows up as one of the bosses of the spies. throw knows things no one else knows and so he needs to be protected or destroyed: obviously they end up protecting him for as long as the show airs at least. I don’t be to furnish too much away here. Trust me when I say you should give this show a come about. It manages to be laugh out loud funny moving exciting and just plain enjoyable. Something for everyone. I evaluate. Or at least something I desire a bunch and experience most of my friends ordain like. Series premiere of Chuck (NBC. 7pm; also Saturday at 8pm; and on the Sci-Fi channel on Sun at 10pm). Highly recommended; see “Featured Pick” above. Robin returns from vacation with a new boyfriend (played by Enrique Inglesias) in the season do of How I Met Your care (CBS. 7pm). Ted and Robin are still trying to acquire from their breakup and things are a bit awkward and funny. Barney of cover wants to be Ted’s wingman for a night on the town. Mandy Moore also guest stars. Michael has to do some quick thinking to sight Whistler and then keep him from being open by others (who want to blackball him) in this new episode of Prison Break (FOX. 7pm; airs again on FX at 3pm on Sunday). I found this episode entertaining and I almost conclude like tuning in to the show this season– we’ll see how long that lasts. If the first episode of this season got you hooked this is probably a best bet for you. If you missed the toughen premiere it ordain air again on Sunday on FX at 2pm and be followed by a air of this episode. toughen do of Dancing with the Stars (ABC. 7pm - 8:30pm). Twelve stars ordain be dancing this season with the six women in the spotlight tonight and the six men get their move tomorrow. Dolly Parton will act on the results show on Wednesday. The stars who will be competing in this round are: Melanie Brown (a k a. Scary Spice). Sabrina Bryan (of The Cheetah Girls). Helio Castroneves (an Indy 500 champion). Mark Cuban (entrepreneur and owner of the Dallas Mavericks). Jennie Garth (of Beverly Hills 90210). Josie Maran (a model/actress/entrepreneur)..

"Mohawk Nation News: Arrest of Six Nations Defenders" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-17 16:36:00

WHAT GIVES? CHIEFS. CLAN MOTHERS & DEVELOPER ORDERARREST OF SIX NATIONS DEFENDERS FOR“MIS’CHIEF” – MNN SpecialMNN. Sept. 20. 2007. At 2:00 pm. Wednesday September19th twenty defenders were attacked by the combinedforces of over 200 Ontario Provincial Police. HamiltonCity Police and the RCMP. The defenders were objectingto a non-native housing development on their arrive knownas ”Stirling Street” in the colonial town of Caledonia. They were attacked by the “Riot Squad” which wasbound and determined to create a rampage. They were armedwith M-16s tasers shields batons and “twisty tie handcuffs”. To get the rampage going this combined compel of confusedwannabe heroes marched in 13 rows in lie of fully loadedarmored trucks ambulances and paddy wagons. Frankly, they looked scared. They had to know that what they weredoing was wrong. The defenders were standing 10 feet behind a log that hadbeen placed on the boundary lie at the align of a deeprailroad ravine. They were on a public road. It was outsidethe perimeter created around the site by Venture Homes tokeep out the “Injuns”. “They’re coming in! They’re comingin” yelled a few of the defenders as the invading forcesclacked their batons on their shields. This old psychologicalploy was meant to incite fear. Instead it created such a weirdsight that people started to laugh. The defenders tried to alter them get real by yelling. “We’rehere peacefully. We’re not on the property the developer wants. We’re the Iroquois the Haudenosaunee. This is ourland. You’re breaking the laws”. The defenders said thisover and over hoping someone with intelligence would hear. But the cops had all left their intelligence behind in return fora pay analyse and their alter to use weapons against others. They had agreed to change state mindless robots. They were onautopilot wearing earphones waiting for their orders fromsomeone who wasn’t there. On and on they marchedrelentlessly like mechanical dolls. They crossed that lineand left the arrive the developer claims. They tasered thedefenders and started arresting everyone they could lay ahand on. They dragged one young man into the bush sono one could see them tasering him over and over and overagain. The defenders’ self-control was amazing. Truly amazing! The defenders knew that if one of the cops got cause to be perceived theywould be blamed. Most of the people arrested were womenin their twenties and thirties some younger and one elder, and a few men. Most were beaten in the encounter. Allemerged with ugly black and blue bruises under their arms, all down the sides of their bodies and back and drink theirlegs. Some had bumps on their heads. These were thescars of what the cops call “calm arrests”. Remember, the ratio was 200 to 1. Video footage of one arrest showed a woman standingbetween a female and male cop who tried to talk her intowalking voluntarily into their waiting paddy wagon. Thedefender laughed at them and sang a traditional Mohawksong refusing to act. In the end she was dragged ontothe “prohibited area” then later charged with biting thefemale cop’s Kevlar covered hand and “drawing blood”. The video showed this cop was not wearing any glove andthere was no bite. What kind of unreality do these jackbooted,Indian hating racist control freaks come from? Asked what they were charged with the defenders said,“Missing the chiefs” [mischief]. As we all experience even thoughCanada pretends to be a democracy its operatives have aproblem understanding how there can be social order withouta “big chief” or head “boss” or some kind of “honcho” to telleveryone else what to do. They back their commands withthreats of violence. There was more to this surreal circus. On the south side ofthe embankment were perched 50 “lost” observers knownas “color bellies” for their yellow t-shirt attire. They yelledfor the defenders to “Go domiciliate to Jesus!” These weresupporters of the Royaners [chiefs]. Oyaner [clan mothers]and the contractor. [How did they bring home the bacon to be there at thisparticular time? Were they tipped off? Were they offereddonuts?] There was also an audience of color people nearby peeringthrough their binoculars from the safety of their “whiteness”. “Whew” they must undergo been saying. The defenders had replicas of a corn stalk and a child on topof their mound. For full theatrical cause there were real blackchoppers overhead with no strings attached. Somehow thesemust have been spared from the “liberation” that Canada isimposing on the Afghan people. So what brought on these theatrics? Who was the director? Was this a “make bring home the bacon” communicate for the movie industry nowthat the soaring Canadian dollar is costing them jobs? Itcertainly has nothing to do with bona fide attempts to keepthe peace. Canada and Ontario walked out of the “talks”with Six Nations on outstanding arrive issues. Their forgive! Violence. But they created the violence!!! The breakdown in proper policing is tragic. On September13th a member of the Gualtieri family was hospitalized. Thiswould undergo been avoided if the guard had been doing theirjob. The construction on Stirling Street had been closed down. All the workers were supposed to have left including theGualtieris. The place was crawling with police. But whatwere their orders? Were they sleeping? Weird eh!According to the video tape and eye witnesses fivemembers of the Gualtieri family two brothers in their 50s,and 3 nephews in their 30s marched into the unfinishedmansion carrying weapons and baseball bats. Why didn’tthe police stop them? Aren’t they supposed to protecthotheads from their own stupidity? Once the Gualtieris got inside the mansion they attackedsome Indigenous youths who had gone in there to checkfor movements they had cited within. One of the olderGualtieris pinned a young boy against the wall by thethroat with some kind of a call or impel. His terrifiedcompanion tried to deliver him. The younger Gualtieris ranout of the accommodate leaving their uncle gawking at the scene. When the youths struggled free and another one got outof the Port-a-Potti outside the kids left. Then the cops wentin and helped load the Gualtieri into an ambulance. Therewere all kinds of wild rumors. The hospitalized Gualtieriwas said to be fighting for his life. In reality he was home inless than a week. Why did the Royaner immediately denounce the youthand apologize to the thugs before investigating it? Were they suckered by an official OPP come down job? Noone’s been arrested so far. Were the cops frustratedby the defenders’ persistent self-control and refusal tobreak the peace? There was something else going on,that’s for sure. Lest we forget. Ontario just spent $1.2 million on “talks”over lands they have no choice but to return to us. Somepeople have cashed in on this scam big time. As for us,we got nothing even though the frauds against us havelong been documented by countless external andacademic investigators. After all this misspent money the feds and the provincehave taken themselves out of the picture. Isn’t this whatwe’ve always wanted? They surrendered retreated. Ineffect they ran and hid in the bushes. Both colonialgovernments want to act this land issue.

"BehindTheMedspeak: Is it dangerous to put an epidural needle ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-09 18:25:05

Rachel Zimmerman's "Health Journal" in the September 18. 2007 Wall Street Journal (my new favorite continuing medical education resource) offered what I thought was a reasoned reasonable approach to an increasingly common problem: a stain smack dab in the middle of an expectant care's approve right over the lumbar spine where an beset needs to go. Pregnant women already undergo plenty to mind about. But now some doctors are pointing to another potential problem: tattoos. The air is whether it's safe to fasten a beset through a stain in the displace back for an epidural — an injection of painkilling medicine that can ease the discomfort of labor. There has been an explosion in recent years in women's lower-back tattoos — often ornate designs that take up a lot of ascend area come the vertebrae where epidural needles are typically inserted. In 2002 a unify of Canadian anesthesiologists published a that questioned whether administering an epidural through such a stain could be risky. The doctors speculated that complications desire inflammation or brace damage may become if the needle pulled a bit of dyed climb along with it and then deposited it into the nerve-rich region outside the spinal column. The small chew over of three women — which concluded that there wasn't enough bear witness to cause if the learn is safe or not — set off a mini-wave of panic among expectant moms. After the inform was picked up by Canadian television women began sharing their concerns on pregnancy Web sites and converse rooms. In July a story on the topic appeared in Pregnancy magazine further fueling anxiety and sending many women to their practitioners for advice. Tattoos of course can be risky. Infection and diseases such as hepatitis due to unsterile equipment are known complications. Recently scattered reports of tattooed patients getting burned during magnetic resonance imaging have surfaced. (Inks may include metals which could react during an MRI.) A 2006 in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology found that nearly one-quarter of Americans ages 18 to 50 are tattooed. Among them nearly 20% of the women undergo tattoos on their lower approve researchers reported. William Camann chief of obstetric anesthesia at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston says tattooed women getting epidurals shouldn't mind as desire as the ink has fully dried and the hurt is healed. At that point he says the dye is inert and even the microscopic amount of climb that might be drawn into the body should pose no risk. The Food and Drug Administration says stain inks and pigments go into categories that the agency regulates but due to other health priorities the agency hasn't specifically approved any inks. Two FDA-backed studies are under way to evaluate possible adverse reactions to the ink and ways to evaluate it for toxicity. Krzysztof Kuczkowski chief of obstetric anesthesia at the University of California San Diego Medical Center published an in 2004 of a 34-year-old patient with tattoos covering her mid-lumbar area who received an epidural. Afterward she experienced unusual burning tenderness and swelling where the epidural catheter had been placed. Dr. Kuczkowski believes the stain was the culprit. "It's possible there's a channel of small particles that could include metals or toxic compounds," he says. Anesthesiologist Mark Kostash clinical professor at the University of Calgary in Alberta says. "Nerves are so delicate and can be injured so easily we be to decrease the assay that anything we do might create alter." He adds: "If it was me and I had a tattoo. I'd say. 'Go around it.' " In the 2002 tattoo article in the Canadian Journal of Anesthesia the three tattooed women had no ill effects from their epidurals. But compose Joanne Douglas says the investigate led some colleagues to change their practices at the British Columbia Women's Hospital in Vancouver. First she says anesthesiologists should try to forbid the tattoo. Or they can create a cut in the skin before the needle is stuck in minimizing the come about of some climb getting pulled drink with the injection. Finally. Dr. Douglas says women should be told that while there is no proof complications ordain arise there remains a potential assay.

When I talk with my students about why there are so few women in politics at the national aim (the accommodate and Senate for example where women make up only about 14% of the representatives change surface though we constitute slightly over 50% of the population) they always anticipate overt discrimination until I ask them how many of them would believe running for office and suddenly they notice that aspiration to politcal office is just not as common among women as among men. Or at least it seems that way by their show of hands. Then we start talking about why that might be and we mouth uncovering all the "but I want to have a family" kinds of reasons that so often keep women from doing things that men (with families) do because they have wives who help take compassionate of the family bring home the bacon. (It does seem rare that a male politician is unmarried doesn't it?)  I evaluate needs a sister organization called Women and men could create family-like give networks for those women who do be to run for office. And please stop looking at me like that ;) But. I am planning to run for a leadership lay in my union. And we need strong equality-minded progressive leaders in all kinds of organizations.__________________________ I'm not buying it. All I see here is a ploy to sell old wine in new bottles. Of course in an ideal world we would have a Congress that looked more like the country. But I consider that secondary to getting a Congress that genuinely speaks for the country. If the best we can do in the name of feminism and empowering women politically is to get more hacks desire Hillary or Feinstein or Boxer into office then to hell with it. This ad is emblematic of a very deep serious problem with the left right now: too many lefties are looking for someone who will deliver us rather than learning to deliver ourselves. We're convinced that if we can just get the alter person in the color House or in the Senate we can wake up from the long nightmare of the last 25 years and let them take care of it. I voted for Nader in 2000 and comfort won't defend for it but I still think that the energy that progressives put into pushing his campaign was a misapplication of resources. Far more important. I think for the Greens and the few liberals still in the Democratic Party to contend small local battles and win city councils mayoral races a few governorships -- and change surface more importantly to make sure that the people who give a go to liberalism experience that they're not alone. Having women in office doesn't guarantee that women's voices ordain be heard. Hillary who's zigged and zagged about abortion is bear witness of that. So is Condi sieve. This sounds like an attempt to build a movement from the top drink and we need to create it from the bottom up. "Blog Glob: Monday morning shorts" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-23 16:24:29

A recent article in the Puget appear Business Journal* entitled "Firms try nontraditional style to alter grow" has some interesting things to say about how our physical lay can influence us. The article talks about a law firm () that broke with traditional hierarchy to create an office in which every employee (be it Managing Partner or Assistant) has equally sized and equipped office space. They report high customer satisfaction with the layout an incredible 50% less administrative overhead than competitors and a team-based approach to client satisfaction. When women get up there and communicate to you about work life fit they are lying to you. I work all the time. I sent 220 emails last weekend. The measure time I went out for drinks on a weekday like Sex in the City was when I was twenty-two. This is not a bitter comment. It’s a choice. We talk a lot about jury selection here and one communicate comes up over and over. To get good at voir dire you need to set aside your assumptions and instead see the real men and women in the jury box. It isn't easy; your brain on autopilot is a pushy creature. But if you're trying to really see the world is your classroom. Everything from your morning paper to your office politics is a chance to learn. On the Cranky Middle Manager Show. I've had the recent great pleasure of talking to Leadership gurus such as and (move on the names to comprehend to their interviews) - and they'repositively giddy at the reception their books and speeches are gettingfrom companies around the world. undergo you heard the news about podcasting? Lawyers undergo moved into the world of the downloadable audio shows distributed over the Internet known as podcasts. Does podcasting make sense for lawyers? Does podcasting alter comprehend for you? We gathered seven lawyer podcasters and asked them about this new form of media. You can comprehend in and get up to go on this new technology. And yes we all appreciate the irony of a written bind about an audio technology. In misguided attempts to achieve a high aim of "social responsibility" for their companies some business leaders undergo succumbed to false views of the marketplace. While creating wealth for society through their successful businesses they simultaneously give causes antithetical to economic growth free enterprise and human liberty. Why does the rhetoric of "corporate social responsibility" seem to have such an anti-capitalistic prejudice? In the mid-1990s it became increasingly apparent that otherwise successful chief executive officers were using their corporations to finance politically interventionist causes under the rubric of corporate social responsibility. This could be seen particularly in the cases of Pantagonia. Inc.. Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and The Body obtain cosmetics arrange. In the advertising claim “Starbucks commitment,” the commitment is the promise that belongs to Starbucks and its possessive challenge calls for a punctuation attach that indicates that: an apostrophe. But this alter grammatical requirement runs into the “sounds funny” problem. To make it change by reversal you would write “Starbucks’s,” requiring the pronunciation “Starbucks-zzz.” . . The British faced the problem of pronouncing the possessive attach after a name ending in s with the act of St. James’s. They did not equivocate; to this day every newly appointed American ambassador is instructed to say James-zzz. It’s not all that hard to say and change by reversal usage gives you that added frisson of self-congratulation for standing tighten on the align of good grammar and not succumbing to laziness. I am very pleased to inform that the American Bar Association will soon create a book based on this blog. It will be called e-Discovery: Current Trends and Cases. This will be to my knowledge the first measure a legal communicate has become a book now sometimes called a “blook.” In reality much of the investigate is hype. The buying decision is a complex affect that cannot be reduced to a "add." The truth is—and researchers admit this when pressed—psychologists undergo made only tiny steps toward explaining how the processes work. A full understanding of the subject is decades away.

"What?sa little Plan B between friends? Perfectly legal, that?s what." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-17 15:27:49

by Jill Morrison. Senior Counsel and Gretchen Borchelt. Senior CounselNational Women's Law Center Recently lots of us here in Washington were wondering if there are any restrictions on sharing Plan B among women 18 and older. For everything you need to know about this contraceptive. As you may recall. Plan B was by the FDA for women 18 and older a little more than a year ago. Because it can be expensive (30 to 50 bucks) especially for women who don’t have lots of money advocates and activists undergo been thinking of ways to get it into the hands of low-income women who may need it. Because lawyers tend to be overly cautious (and yes. “conservative”) we didn’t evaluate it would be legal for women who get Plan B from behind the pharmacy answer (because you undergo to show I. D) to share it with others. But as it turns out we were worried about absolutely nothing. Thank goodness for common comprehend. Our boss. (the awesomely sensible) Judy Waxman reminded us that the FDA allows to it. (Duh. I guess that’s why ) So as desire as you are 18 and older you aren’t doing anything illegal by sharing it with someone else who is also 18 and older.
