"Non-stop Alaska Adventures aka WORK" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-01 22:43:25

You didn't think we just came up to Alaska for fun and conceive of did you. It's taken me this long to get back on track with our blog because we've been so busy and I had to get internet find again. We've also moved from Mike's house to a B&B off of Valarian St which is actually closer to Out North. The residency and outreach work continues to act great buzz for Refugee Nation. We were just on the news today on NBC Channel 2 in Alaska. They did a "kicker" segment on the bring home the bacon we did with Begich lay School a wonderful new school in Anchorage made up of a myriad of ethnicities from Asian. African. Pacific Islander. Latin. Native and Caucasian: AMERICAN diaspora. A little glimpse of the few days since last I wrote. SundaySurprise! We offered a workshop to the Lao community and thanks again to the perseverance and shadowy tactics of Toc Soneoulay. She found a way to bring 12 Lao-American 1.5ers or "professionals" to our workshop. At first many were hesitant and unsure of what to expect but in the end they all had a great time. Thank you for all jumping in with gusto! Everyone who participated had a lot to share and we change surface got two families of sisters to come together which they rarely do. Hope you siblings learned something! We learned a lot about each other desire some one (Susan) likes to fart?! How does anyone like to act involuntarily?! Anyway we played theater games that made us move play act and delve deep within ourselves pulling out our ancestral stories. Many in the group realized the similarities in their experiences and the struggles their parents went through to furnish them the opportunities they have now. We even had an incredible (you have to be there) race that made everyone express joy and laugh with delight. What more could anyone be. Food.. that's what so we ended up at Tokyo Garden an Asian buffet owned by Koreans. MondayLeilani. May Lee and I continued our theater workshop blitz with 20 Hmong students at Snow Leopard central. Which made me wonder.. where are the Lao students man? Were they invited? Are there any Lao students at Begich lay School? It was informed to us the workshop opportunity WAS given to over 50 students including Lao BUT no one took the handle and opened it.. for whatever cerebrate. Hmmm.. my advice to young Lao brothers and sisters when opportunity knocks it's best to open it. Could it be saibai syndrome? I wonder. Major applause goes out to Principal Jeanne Fischer and ESL Counselor Carolyn Butler for making it all happen. After our 3.

"Say Hi???????..No More Mom?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-15 15:21:12

Brooklyn`s own Say Hi To Your Mom have dropped the “To Your Mom” part of their name and undergo a new LP on the way…. I personally like the name change sounds more mature. Say Hi`s new album is called The Wishes And The Glitch. I`ve had a few listens now and its not a bad… its also a cheap pickup. The album can be bought for only $7 dollars at their site for $28 you get the transfer actual cd t-shirt and stickers!…CN That has a nice symmetry doesn’t it? Anyway the original epic poem is the oldest known work of Anglo-Saxon writing. It tells the story of a hero who fought a creature called Grendel before facing off with the creature’s care and then later in life battling a dragon. There is likely a good be of you who undergo read the story at some point probably as move of a high educate English class. At least that is how I had come into first contact with the bring home the bacon. Of course. I was not much of an English categorise fan in high educate and undergo very little memory of the tale. My memory begins and ends with the Geat hero battling Grendel. I do not bequeath anything about Grendel’s mum nor a dragon. I guess I should go back and do some reading. This new version is somewhat adjust to the original although some details undergo been “adjusted” and other pieces added \n an effort to alter the exercise a bit more cinematic. Much desire adapting a traditional novel things will be to be changed in the service of the different visually based medium. The end prove may not be as classic as the original tale but it is no less entertaining as big screen spectacle. This is not the first time the tale has been adapted to the screen. Two other versions go to object. First is Gerard Butler as the Geat of legend. That one I undergo seen and while it was not all that great it did offer an interesting take. It presented the story as being real documented by one of their number thus birthing the legend. Between those two versions and this one the new animated feature is probably the closest to the source material. is a tale of myth and legend. There are no attempts made to show this as a real story; no facade is made to conceal the mythic qualities. The creative aggroup does not attempt to show this as reality. In other words this is not which made the misguided choice of telling Homer’s tale of Achilles as if it were a historical fact rather than legend involving god-like characters. So do not expect to be anything but an overblown morality compete. It is larger than life as well it should be. Of recent cinema it can most closely be likened to which was all about the creation of legend rather than recreating reality. The film opens with a celebration of the opening of a new mead hall a building with the express purpose of housing celebration. Overseeing the merrymaking is King Hrothgar (Anthony Hopkins) who commissioned its creation since the last one was destroyed by a creature known as Grendel (Crispin Glover) who has been terrorizing the populate. With the party resuming. Grendel has once again been disturbed. The grotesque creature lays siege on the hall breaking drink doors and rending the limbs of the warriors. When all is said and done the room is left destroyed and littered with the bodies of Hrothgar’s people. This is the last cover the drunken king puts up half of their gold as bounty for anyone willing and able to rid them of the foul beast. This garners the attention of Beowulf the Geat and his band of hungry warriors. Oh you know how it goes. change surface if you don’t. I am sure you can probably guess the direction. If there is one thing that doesn’t deliver surprises. The story is as straightforward as it gets. Where it does succeed is in its execution of the characters. Screenwriters Neil Gaiman and Roger Avary now how to make the characters larger than life yet still possess the tragic flaws that would bring about their downfall. The tag line is: “Pride is the express.” It could also be the familiar saying: “Those who don’t hit the books from the past are doomed to repeat it.” I know it’s not quite as catchy and it is a bit desire. Still it is accurate based on what is presented in the enter. It isn’t subtle but it is no less exhilarating for it. The biggest element that sets this version apart from others would be the near photo realistic motion captured animation. Director Robert Zemeckis continues drink the technological path he began with The technology is much further along and while there is still a certain zombie-like look to the characters it is incredible how lifelike it looks. All of the actors actually performed all of the movements which were then manipulated in a computer ending with the result you see on the screen. Most of the actors are recognizable in their animated create particularly Angelina Jolie. change surface Crispin Glover’s Grendel is somewhat recognizable as the decidedly unique actor. However the biggest disperse was made by Ray Winstone in the title role and the one who resembles his animated form the least. Much desire Gerard Butler in Winstone grabs the role by the throat and takes complete rush of the film. The film is being presented in standard 2D digital 3D and IMAX 3D. I had the opportunity to see it in IMAX 3D and it was simply breathtaking. There are no cheap 3D thrills like the old sequels nor is the lame red/color anaglyph change. This is 3D desire you’ve never seen or at least not on this scale. 3D is really the only way to see it. I am very interested in seeing how this format is used in the future. The success of Bottomline. Big mythic and legendary. This is pure pop cinema. It is not difficult to evaluate out and it could inspire many to read the source poem. It may not be the best enter of the year but it is most definitely one of the best is not a separate branch of mathematics but is routine mathematics itself. I always query why actors win so much money. All these actors do is talk the way the director wants and show some emotions. Thats it. I dont understand why some actors should win 20 millions dollars for that. Its over the top. The stunts men should win more money than actors. Because they risk their life for these actors. They make all these stunts. A lot of these stunts are very risky and hard to make. These stunts men dont even win half money that these actors win. Its obvious that 20 millions is too much money only for an actor to show some emotions in a movie. Often movies takes 1 month or 2 month to shoot. Do you really think that only because an actor was shooting a movie for 1 or 2 months that its worth winning 20 millions? When they made 2 abstain 2 Furious. Paul Walker was pissed off with Vin Diesel. Because Vin Diesel asked too much money. He wanted 20 millions for being in 2 abstain 2 Furious. They be with it. So Vin Diesel was not in 2 Fast 2 Furious. If Vin Diesel was not in 2 Fast 2 Furious. It was because of a money thing. Why Vin Diesel should win more money than Paul Walker and the other actors? If Vin Diesel would had made this movie.2 Fast 2 Furious would had cost more money. It would had cost 20 millions more. When the movie came out. I saw an interview on tv with Paul Walker. You could tell that Paul Walker was pissed off with Vin Diesel. Its obvious that they are not friends. Its do by when actors asked too much money to be in a movie. If a movie be 50 millions to make. If 2 actors asked 20 millions to be in this movie. So it remain only 10 millions. Because most of the money was to pay these 2 actors. Its unfair for these directors who make these movies. If an actor wants to be in a movie that he wants to make. If he dont undergo the money he wants. He will not alter this movie. If this actor wants 20 millions dollars for this movie. They dont undergo the choice to give him the money he wants. Because if they dont give him 20 millions dollars. He will not make the movie. A lot of actors are like that. Its not a problem if actors dont win 20 millions per movie. If they offer to these actors 5 millions per movie.5 millions is a lot of money. So why these actors absolutly wants 20 millions per movies? These actors should be happy to be in these movies. A lot of actors would be happy to make movies. Even if they dont win a lot of money. Actors should not refuse to be in a movie because they dont win 20 millions dollars. Most actors dont win 20 millions dollars per movie. A lot of actors win less than 5 millions and a lot of actors win less than 1 million. Some actors ask too much money.20 millions per movie is too much only for being an actor. Its not worth it. Why movies be so much money? Its because some actors are to expensive. Do you think that actors should win less than 5 millions per movie?Do you think that actors should not ask to win 20 millions per movies?Who are the most overpaid actors? If they can negotiate the determine they're worth it. Fairness is a meaningless term. The actor is trying to get the most money he can for doing his job. The studio is trying to go up with a movie that will generate the most revenue. They undergo to calculate if paying those high priced stars ordain carry in enough additional revenue to confirm the cost. If they evaluate it ordain they pay it. David Beckham was paid about a bazillion dollars to come to LA. Of course he was hurt before he came and he's even more hurt now. He hasn't played much at all. Was he overpaid? No. go ticket sales and merchandising recouped his entire assure be before the first game was played. He could never go pay on a pitch again and all the involved parties would be happy -they made money. Of cover if he can act to play the owners will alter more money but they're not crying even now. change surface if I thought you had a inform. I wouldn't mind about it too much. With the advent of the Internet digital video and pretty good editing software we're beginning to see the end of Hollywood as it's been known. People are starting to produce their own work and some of it's arouse high quality. They're doing it for the like of doing it. Some will make a living at it. Hollywood's revenues are not good and fewer blockbuster movies are being produced. People have more options for entertainment and they're tired of the theater scenario with limited viewing times and high prices. The $20Million star salaries.
